in the vineyards

Tannenkirch, DE, originally uploaded by Rob Carey2.

April 19, 2011. I don't remember the weather in April ever being this beautiful. I took my scooter up into the vineyards above Tannenkirch today where I sketched this little scene. You can see the stork nest on top of the church tower there in the distance, and I watched a grey heron fly by.

I also posted on urban sketchers. Well done, thanks for sharing the additional info.

I like the way that you captured the rolling landscape of the vineyard. Very nice.
I am also envious of the good weather that you've had. Here it seems that winter doesn't want to release its grip. While the fields are free of snow, its still fairly cool and we still get episodes of snowfall. I guess this is good weather for maple syrup!

Thank you, NA, again, for your comments there and here! This sketch is one I really enjoyed making.

Michael- It sure doesn't seem like the cold weather will be returning to Germany, but I've lived here long enough to know it could still change. Although the daytime highs are in the low 20s, one night last week it hit zero, so you never know. We got snow on Easter one year!
