Mount Etna Erupts!

Mount Etna erupting

January 5, 2012. We were woken up at 6:45 am by Giuseppe knocking on our door, yelling for us to get up and look at the volcano. He told me to draw a picture of it while it was erupting, so here's the result. Truly one of my greatest memories in my life...

Fantastic! What an opportunity! I love that orange morning light shining on the cloud.
I saw a volcano myself last summer, but not nearly as impressive as this view. Count yourself lucky.

Yeah, there are those moments in life when you feel most alive. For me, many of those times are during powerful storms or things like this. Such an amazing day today.

At times like this one feels to be infinitely small.

The artist sees the sublime. Me, I just think lahore. Thank god for artists! Thanks Rob.

If I comment every time I love your drawings you will think I'm a crazy groupie/stalker, but I do love your work and really appreciate that you share it with us.

Check this out: I guess your neighbour sold your view to the NY times: (picture 9)

thank you, Marcia. I appreciate your remarks.
And Rene, that photo does look like it was taken very close to where we are located. I guess the photographer beat me to it!

It's a pencil case- but I keep pens, brushes and an eraser in there too.

Rob, thanks. Is it a particular brand of pencil case? I have not seen one like that at my local art stores.

It's an Eberhard Faber case. I think I got it at Müller, here in Germany.
